General Resort Information
Is there a private beach at Le Pondy?
In India, beaches cannot be privately owned by any individual or organisation. However, Le Pondy has private access to the beach located directly in front of the resort. We maintain this stretch of beach for our guests and provide lifeguard services during designated hours.
Is the beach near the resort crowded?
The beach can be accessed directly from the resort and is generally not crowded. Most visitors to this stretch are our in-house guests, making it a peaceful and relaxing environment.
Is it safe to swim in the sea?
The Bay of Bengal along the Pondicherry coast is generally safe. However, strong underwater currents, steep drop-offs, and rough waves can pose hazards. Guests are advised to exercise caution and follow the instructions of the lifeguard and resort staff.
Is parking available?
Yes. Complimentary parking is available in a separate parking area adjacent to the resort. Covered parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved in advance.
Is accommodation available for drivers?
Limited bed space and restroom facilities are available for drivers on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact the Reception Desk for availability.
Is EV charging available?
Yes. The resort offers:
- Type 2 AC 22 kW Chargers - 2 Units
- Managed and operated by Zion EV Charging
Accommodation
What are the check-in and check-out timings?
- Check-in: 2:00 PM
- Check-out: 11:00 AM
Can I check in before 10:00 AM?
To guarantee a check-in before 10:00 AM, the room must be blocked from the previous night, and an additional night's room charge will apply.
Is early check-in available?
Early check-in may be accommodated, subject to room availability.
Is late check-out available?
Late check-out up to 1:00 PM may be accommodated, subject to availability.
What do the Lake Facing and Sea Facing room categories mean?
Lake Facing and Sea Facing are room categories that indicate the room's location and orientation within the resort. These categories do not guarantee a direct or unobstructed view of the lake or sea.
How many people can be accommodated in a room?
All rooms are designed for double occupancy (2 persons).
In the following room categories, one additional adult can be accommodated on a chargeable extra bed:
- Lake Facing Rooms
- Sea Facing Rooms
- Luxury Pool Villas
- Can accommodate up to 4 guests.
- 2 additional beds may be arranged on a chargeable basis, one in the bedroom and one in the living room.
Are children charged extra?
- Up to 2 children below 6 years of age may stay free of charge while sharing the parents' bed.
- Extra beds, if required, will be charged separately.
- Children aged 6 to 12 years will be charged 50% of the extra adult rate.
- Children aged 12 years and above will be considered adults.
How many extra beds can be accommodated in a room?
A maximum of one extra bed can be accommodated in a room.
Swimming Pool & Beach
What are the swimming pool timings?
The swimming pool is open daily from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
What is the swimming pool dress code?
Proper swimming attire is mandatory.
For Men- Nylon swimming shorts only.
Ladies- Proper swimsuits only.
Note:The use of T-shirts, pants, salwar-kameez, churidar, sarees, nightwear, or any non-swimming attire is strictly prohibited.
What are the swimming pool rules?
- Pool timings: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
- Appropriate swimwear is mandatory.
- Only nylon swimwear is permitted.
- Cotton clothing and streetwear are not allowed.
- Guests must shower before entering the pool.
- Children below 12 years must be accompanied by an adult.
- Diving, jumping, running, pushing, and rough play are prohibited.
- Glassware, food, and beverages are not allowed in the pool.
- Persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs are not permitted to use the pool.
- Guests with open wounds, skin infections, or communicable illnesses should not use the pool.
- Unhygienic behaviour, such as spitting or blowing the nose into the pool, is prohibited.
- Guests must maintain proper hygiene and decorum.
- The management is not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings.
- Pool usage is entirely at the guest's own risk.
- Guests must follow instructions given by pool attendants and resort staff.
- Recreational equipment may only be used with prior permission.
- Management reserves the right to deny access to guests violating pool rules.

What types of events can be hosted at Le Pondy?
We host:

What is the capacity of the banquet hall?
Banquet Hall Size: 3,400 sq. ft.
Capacity:
- Theatre Style: 250–275 guests
- Cluster Seating: 90–100 guests
- U-Shape Seating: 50–60 guests
Do you offer indoor or outdoor event venues?
Both indoor and outdoor event facilities are available.
Do you have lawn facilities?
Yes. We have 2 event lawns available.
Do the lawns have a beach view?
Yes. Both lawns offer beautiful beach views.
What is the capacity of the lawns?
- Poolside Lawn: 400-500 guests with dining arrangements
- Main Lawn: 1,000-1,200 guests with dining arrangements
How can I check availability and book an event venue?
You may contact our Reservations Team via phone, email, or by visiting the resort directly.
Is an advance payment required for banquet bookings?
Yes. A 50% advance payment is required to confirm the booking. And balance payment as per the guaranteed billing before the banquet, and the final settlement the same day after the banquet.
Do you allow outside catering?
No. Outside catering is not permitted.
Do you provide decoration services?
Basic decorations can be arranged by the resort. Premium decor and customised themes can be arranged at additional cost through approved vendors.
Can we hire our own decorators or event planners?
Yes. External event planners and decorators may be engaged, subject to compliance with the resort's operational guidelines and restrictions.
What happens in case of bad weather?
The banquet hall can be utilised as a backup venue, subject to availability.
Are there noise restrictions for outdoor events?
Yes. Music and amplified sound are permitted only up to 10:00 PM, in compliance with local regulations.
Is parking available for event guests?
Yes. Open parking facilities are available for event attendees.
Are there event time restrictions?
Yes. Event timings are subject to resort policies and applicable local regulations.
Restaurant & Day Visit Facilities
Do you offer vegetarian or vegan food?
Yes. Vegetarian and vegan options can be arranged upon request.
Is a prior reservation required for non-residents to dine at the restaurant?
Yes. Advance table reservation is recommended and may be required, especially during weekends and holidays.
Do you host private dining events or parties?
Yes. We accommodate:

Do you offer day packages?
Yes. Day packages are available. Please contact our reservations team for details.
Can non-residents use the swimming pool?
Yes. Non-resident guests may use the swimming pool on a chargeable basis, subject to availability and resort policies.
Are pets allowed in the resort?
No. Pets are not permitted within the resort premises
Do you prepare baby food?
Yes. Baby food can be prepared on request.
